Owen in Disguise

What a character!

This character is breaking my heart lately....he tells me "no more kisses Mama, I am sick!" He is just getting so big! He doesn't snuggle very much anymore and will not tolerate being called my baby or lovey.

Easter 2014

I seriously can't believe that Easter has already come and gone! The older my kids get, the faster time seems to go! Savannah is going to be turning 7 next month and then Owen will be starting full week pre-school in the fall! It's crazy!

But as for Easter, we had a pretty low key one this year!

Our festivities started on Thursday at Pre-school with an Egg Hunt! Here is Owen counting his eggs!
Then Saturday we headed over to church for our church hunt! I was telling Savannah to control herself, leave eggs for the other kids, and to not focus on getting the most....this is the response I got!

She's disgusted at the thought of not getting the most!

I had to cut her off once the eggs started falling out of her basket! She might be slightly competitive!

Poor Kate didn't get to hunt eggs and Mike took Owen so this was the only group shot we managed!

The next morning, it was basket time!

I thought they might be a little disappointed with their baskets this year, but they were thrilled. Each one got a movie, some crafty stuff, and some candy!

Then it was of to church!

Mike insisted that I cook a special dinner even though it was just us, and I am glad he did! Yum yum!

A Start...

I am completely overwhelmed with pictures right now, so I am just going to start with a few random ones!

An average day here - one goofy boy, a grump girl, and one sweetie!

After an egg hunt....they are always happy when they have baskets full of treats!

Crash and Burn!

So have you noticed that I haven't updated my blog in a couple weeks? It's because my computer has crashed! Again! At first we thought it was just a virus but as it turns out my hard drive failed....in addition to the virus! So while I have a TON of pics to share, I have to find time to sit down and get them all organized and posted. But the good news is that my computer is back up and running again! Yay! Stay tuned.....

Zoo with Grandma

On Saturday of Spring Break we all loaded up in the van and took off to the Cincinnati Zoo for a day of fun!

Sad for us it was quite a bit colder so we had to bundle up!

We saw our first 4 D movie!

And rode the carousel

Love this face!

Both kiddies on the Rhino

Monkey See

Monkey Do

We had a great week off school and loved having Grandma over at our house! We are all rested and geared up for the last 9 weeks of school! I cannot believe this school year is almost over!

Spring Break Fun

Last week was Spring Break and the weather finally eased a little and we were able to get outside and play!

I am not sure why but Owen has decided the sand is more fun outside the sandbox!

Sibling love!

Pretty sure Kate took this pic but I can't believe how gray Hogan is getting! He's gonna be 10 this summer!

Thursday we were all in for a treat! Grandma flew into Lexington to spend a few days with us. And on Friday we saw Mr. Peabody and Sherman and then ventured over to Keeneland to check out a few horse races.
It was a little chilly but we were still determined to have fun!

This was my and all the kids first time seeing a horse race. I have to admit it wasn't all that exciting, but it was something we'd never done before!

We ran into this horse on our way to the gift shop.

And this gentleman was nice enough to let us pet the horse and get a pic

Grandma taught my kids a new skill! They cleaned the car ceiling with baby wipes and got out a ton of splatter stains! :)

Owen had a different idea for the baby wipe! Silly boy :)

We had a great first few days of Spring Break! Check back for pictures of the zoo with Grandma!

A Better Day!

Sunday Kate had a much better birthday celebration than her actual birthday! Yay! After church we picked up her friend and went to the mall. And I let the girls go off on their own for about 3 hours! A major exercise in trust, but they did great!

The little ones and Mike came with so Mike could shop for a suit for work! Boring.....

Owen got a subway kids meal and was loving the fact that he could carry his leftovers around in his Muppet pack!

Trying on a Derby Hat!

Once the girls were done at the mall, we came home and I put them to work making Tie Dye Cupcakes! I didn't realize it when I bought them but they were kind of a lot of work!

We decided after all the hard work of making the batter, separating the colors, and filling the cups that we should add a few sprinkles to the mix!

All done! Can you tell which cupcake is Savannah's? Did you guess the biggest? The one that is spilling over the paper? Even after I told her not to fill it too full? A few times.... And only to use a few sprinkles.....yes that big one covered with sprinkles is Miss Savannah's!

Happy girl icing her art work!

Check out the inside

And Kate got to have her friend over all afternoon right up until bedtime and the best part about it is that since Kate is so sweet, so are her friends! She and Ivey allowed the little ones to play with them most of the evening and so it was a wonderfully quiet house for the parents :)

Birthday Success!
