We're Back!

We have been away on vacation for 10 days and we are finally back in Lexington!!! We had a fabulous time in Washington DC and Williamsburg VA. I am going to share a few pictures of our trip and then once I get them all sorted and organized I will share more!

Taking a dip in the hotel pool in WV

Eating a yummy breakfast at the top of our DC hotel

Getting an escort through Colonial Williamsburg

Loving this life jacket even if it is pink! :)

Selfie on the sky lift at Busch Gardens

All things considered Savannah did a great job on vacation!

What a cutie!

One of the few pics from vacation where she is smiling! Kate was tired the whole trip! Little Miss Tween missed her afternoon naps!

Owen and his beloved Squeaky....the 1.75 gift shop toy

Cuddle Session!
We had such a good time on our trip and overall my kids all did amazing through it all. I can't say we slept in or relaxed by the pool too much but we definitely made the most of our trip and learned a lot along the way.

Art Camp

After being out of school one full week, Savannah was lucky enough to get to go back for a two day arts camp!

Day One Products

Day Two Products
Savannah loved going to the Art Camp and I am really thankful that she attended. As it was just two days prior to leaving town for a week and a half, Mike and I both needed the time to divide and conquer different tasks! I had to work one day and had two doctor's appointments the next and Mike was working overtime to prepare for our departure!

The morning that Owen and I spent at work....he wandered into the toddler room and squeezed himself into this 3T dress up outfit! Ridiculous!!!!

The reason I love this kid....

Owen watches Mike like a hawk and mimics the things that he does. One evening when I was whining for Mike to rub my feet (and he was ignoring me...) Owen stepped in and took over!!!

What a cutie!!!

And just for funsies, here are a few new sleeping Owen pictures!

This was his last day at T-Ball!

Father's Day 2014

For Father's Day this year Mike really didn't want a whole lot. He asked if we could do a family activity or a family craft and being the amazingly wonderful wife that I am I arranged for us to do both!

Saturday we drove to Palisades Trail to do a two mile loop hike along the Kentucky River. Mike just loves a good hike :)

Before the hike

450 million year old limestone....or so the sign said :)

A very green Kentucky River

About halfway through the loop

First try for a family selfie....

Second try has an awkward angle but is better overall! Except maybe for Owen's weird eyes :)
So then on Sunday after reluctantly agreeing to work an extra shift in the nursery with me and holding someone else's screaming child for over an hour, I took Mike out to lunch and we did this family craft!! I think they turned out really cute :)

Suncatchers!!!

A steak dinner rounded out our evening! Overall, I think Father's Day weekend was relaxing and enjoyable for us all :)

Zoo Changes

About a year ago we went to the Cincinnati Zoo for the first time! Last week we went again! Check out the changes in the kids in a year!!

Is it just me, or does that Gorilla look smaller?!?!?!

I chose the wrong waterfall, but you get the idea...

Last year without Daddy or a smart phone

Now choo choo selfies with Daddy!!!

My kids are growing up! It is thrilling that we can do a day at the zoo relatively normally now. The idea of a diaper bags, scouting out every bathroom, or worrying about no nap meltdowns are over! But sometimes I just miss my little babies!!!

First Swim of the Summer!

I always worry a little at the beginning of summer if my kids are going to be able to remember to swim or not! But they always do! They were super excited to get to go swimming finally and were really good troopers even when the water was a little cold!

Diving right in!

A little chilly

Happy regardless

Owen was eager to swim and kept begging to go on the slide

So we let him!!! Mike and I were a little uneasy but he did great! And then he did it two more times!

We only managed to stay in the pool for about an hour and a half before the kids were shivering and begging for their towels! But we'll be going back! A lot!

One Year Here!

Today marks our one year anniversary of moving to Lexington!

One year ago today -

Just look at my flower beds....yucky yuck...

Much better now!
We also recently painted the inside of our house because we signed another year lease and the white walls were making me a little batty!
We chose the same color for the entire house except the kids rooms

Purple in the girls room! Awesome!

Blue in Owen's room!

Overall we just love living in Lexington and we are so excited for year two!

Last Day of School 2014!

As much as I didn't think this day would ever come back in the Arctic Assault of Jan, Feb, and March of 2014....the day has finally arrived! The last day of this school year :) It seemed to kind of sneak up on me but I will very much admit that I am looking very forward to this summer!

Here are my girls on their last day of school!

Bring on 2nd grade!

This was her first day.....seems like a long time ago

Moving up to 7th grade!

This one is the most bothersome....I am too young to have a 7th grader!

Even though it was a week ago, this was Owen's last day of Pre-K 3

I see the most change in him....and it makes me sad :(

Yesterday afternoon I got to go and watch the 6th grade awards program! She did great! She made all A's and B's all year :)

I am so proud of my kiddos! They all do such a great job in school. They make great grades, have great behavior, and generally make my life easy in the school department! Here's to hoping that trend continues for a long, long time!!!!!
