Lately...

The weeks keep flying by and I cannot seem to catch up from the mounds of activities and laundry that I am buried under! So here is a random sampling that doesn't really have a common theme.....

Just a little over 2 months until we go to Disney World!!!

Savannah was Star Student for a week!

My little fall cuties....

Savannah has been clocking a lot of time on her bike recently....I won't tell you about the time she hit a parked truck though....

This child somehow managed to get herself stuck in a baby swing at the park during Owen's soccer practice! Wow!

And this non-smiling tween earned 4 A's and 2 B's on her first quarter report card!

Evan's Orchard with Owen!

This week I was lucky enough to get to go to a local orchard with Owen and his preschool class.

It was FREEZING! Well, not quite....it was 45 degrees.....

After 3 hours in these ballet flats and no heavy jacket I was a popsicle! 18 months in KY and I still haven't learned about layering and dressing for the weather! Boo.....

Sky Top with the Carmody's

Last weekend we drove to NC to continue our tradition with the Carmody's by going to Sky Top Orchard. Last year I drove all the way to them during fall break but this year with everything the families have going on we just decided to meet there for the day!

These girls were happy to see each other again!

First up - clocking some time on the playground

The five...ready to pick some apples!

Owen was very determined to pick more than his two apples

Family pic...it appears I was the one closing my eyes this time!

Carmody Family

Love this pic! Two girls and an apple!

This is another cute one

Boy Selfie on the hay ride! These two got along so well!

The pumpkins were too nice looking to ignore!

Savannah chose several nice ones but eventually we narrowed it down to the winner!

Cutie pie Caroline

My favorite part about the drive was the fall leaves! This pic does NOT even come close to doing them justice

After the orchard we went downtown into Hendersonville and ate lumch....Lexington  has horses....Hendersonville has bears

The middle kids ate at their own table and did great! Even with the random gentleman who snagged a chair and fell asleep right next to them! :)

After a stop by the local bakery for cookies, we had to head home :( But it was a great Saturday!

Mama Turns 33.....(audible sigh)

So I haven't exactly been looking forward to my birthday this year. Something about 33 just seems odd. You aren't really a young 30 anymore, you aren't quite to that 35 and over mark.....you are just stuck in the middle....uugghhhh.....

Whatever.....

It was still a nice day even if I wasn't exactly thrilled about the number. I had the day off work and Mike surprised me by taking the day off too. Mike took all the kids to school and even brought me a Chick-fil-A biscuit to eat in bed! Yay! At some point I did get out of bed and we went out lunch and ran a few errands before getting Owen from preschool. It was probably the first time Mike and I have been at home alone together without the kids in a long time!

Once the kids got home from school it was pretty much business as usual.....until.....

these babies!

these three were like little vultures to my treats!

And the kids made me some sweet cards

From Savannah

This one is from Kate....it needed a little more interpretation but trust me when I say that when she explained it, it was precious!

Some more from Savannah!

Fire Safety Month!

October is Fire Safety Month and with my job at our church preschool I have been arranging for the Lexington Fire Department to come out to our school and give a fire safety talk to our 3's and 4's classes. This week was the week and they brought the fire truck with them!

Check it out!

What fun it was!!! So thankful to the LFD for coming out to teach us!
