EGGSTRAVAGANZA!!!

This past weekend we had a super busy Saturday! We started the morning with an egg hunt at our church. It was really cold out so I think a lot of people stayed home thinking the hunt would be outside.

All of these eggs

for about a dozen kids!

Savannah in action!

The basket was full pretty quick but lucky for her she brought an Old Navy bag as a back up!
Downstairs in the gym it was about the same!! So many eggs

In the end we ended up with a full bag and two full baskets!!! Just look at the smile on Savannah's face!! She is a sugar addict. Seriously.....

After the egg hunt Owen had yet another birthday party to attend at Chuck E Cheese and since Mike was out of town at a conference, the girls had no choice but to tag along again! They have it super rough!!!

He's in there somewhere!

After the party, we took off to Toys R Us and Target and Claire's to let Kate spend some of her birthday money. By dinner time we were worn out!

It isn't easy having so much fun!!!!

Birthday Fun!

I am really not sure why, maybe because her birthday is in the Spring and not the summer, but it always seems like Kate's birthday is never really "her" day! Last year half of us were sick and Owen threw up on the dinner table at Cracker Barrel! This year I had to work and we had our preschool Egg Hunt so I was exhausted by the end of the day! In addition Savannah had to perform with her church group at a local nursing home so we only had a small window to celebrate.

Owen's class after their Egg Hunt

Kate decided that she wanted to eat at Cheddar's for her birthday dinner! And I am happy to report that no one threw up!!

We didn't like it at all!!!

As soon as we were done, it was off to the performance! Savannah was part of a puppet show and singing for the residents. It was precious!!!

Puppet Show

Singing....she always insists on dressing up!!

Handing out gifts to the residents

I just wanted one picture.....this is the face she gives me!

He's doing the goofy face!!

Finally a smile!! From the birthday girl :)

The next night we rented Annie, did our Jamberry nails, and had cupcakes!!! Much better! :)

Love you Kate!!!

Happy Birthday Kate!

I officially have a teenager! She's 13 and I am already nervous!!!

This is how I still see her in my mind!

I can't possibly be old enough for her to look like this!

Third Quarter Report Card - All A's and one B

She's starting to outgrow that bike!!!
All Kate wanted for her birthday this year was cash and Jamberry Nails! Thank you to everyone who sent her cards already! She is thrilled with all the love :) Her weekend plans - eat at Cheddar's, rent Annie, do her Jamberry Nails, and go to the mall for a shopping spree!!!! Total Teen!

This Week....

This week was a pretty easy week considering the last few that we've had and the next few we have coming up! So I made sure to slow down and enjoy it!

I kept Savannah home from school one day because she was just needing a little mother-daughter time and she insisted that we mine for gems in the creek!

You know, because that is what normal people do on a day off! :)

Another day she and Owen made this tent with the deck furniture

Saturday Owen had a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese for one of his preschool friends and I decided to go ahead and bring the girls along so they could have a little fun!

How many kids can you fit in a 2 seater Jeep?

At least three!

I had to force Owen to take a break from the playing and actually sit down for the party! He is all business at CEC!!

Owen and his other best buddy Karson and the birthday girl Jasmine playing air hockey

against Savannie! She is so crazy!! :)

And then as I was getting things down from the attic for Easter, I stumbled across this is little gem!!

This is where it all started!! Kaitlyn's first Easter with us....she had just turned 5! Next week she will be 13....sniff sniff. Please someone, make it stop!

Signs of Spring!

The weather has finally started to ease up on us a little bit! Yay!!! We've had a couple a really nice days here and my kids are thrilled to be able to get outside and really play!

It seems like we've all just kind of been a little peppier around here :)

The little kids did some serious bike riding!

I tried out a new dish! A one dish dinner which was actually really good in addition to being super simple!

It looked yummy on my plate too!

As we get closer to Spring Break, I am having a hard time coming to grips with the fact that we have just 2 months of preschool left!

Preschool crafts make my heart happy! I can't remember the last time Kate or Savannah brought anything home on construction paper. Real school work is just depressing.....

So I am trying to soak up every last second of preschool joy!

Crazy Kid!

Check out this crazy kid!!!

Owen specifically asked for a "Mexico hat" and he was thrilled to get it finally!!! This is him doing imaginary maracas :)

Another new accessory! Owen has better vision in one eye than in the other so his dr suggested that we try patching the stronger eye for 2 hours per day for about a month to hopefully strengthen his vision in the weaker eye. He was MISERABLE wearing the bandage covers so we invested in this cutie spider patch! And he loves it :)

And I just love this crazy kid!

Cancun

So I am a little behind! Recovering from travel and then jumping right back into my regular routine is getting harder and harder as I get older! Ha!!! Imagine that....

But I had an amazing time in Mexico! It was totally worth the before and after stress :)

The view from our balcony....

Seriously

I may have worn these around the hotel room

and ordered this from room service!!!! :)

Each morning started with someone bringing us a hot tea tray!

This is how we do breakfast in Mexico!!! Yes please!!! :)

I ate a huge breakfast every morning we were there, first because it was so good, and second because lunch and dinner had limited options for weird people like me who don't eat seafood
I spent a good portion of 2 days like this!!!

Oh, and with one of these close by! :) Yum Yum....
On our last full day there I needed to get souvenirs for the family so Mom suggested a stroll down the beach to the mall.

This almost looks too good to be real!!!

Feet in the sand!! I may have posted a picture of this on FB for all my snowed in work ladies to look at!!! :)

But as most great vacations go, it was over all too quick! Neither Mom or I were ready to leave! I am already mentally plotting a return trip!! :)
