One week down!

So Owen finally started school this week and it didn't go as well as I had hoped it would for him. He really is such a Mama's boy and no matter how much I tried, I couldn't get him excited about school. He has been home with me or at preschool with me for 5 years and he just is really content being at home.

This little guy cried three mornings in a row at drop off and very nearly broke my heart!

This kitty is becoming quite spoiled! She meows at the door when its convenient for her to come in and eat!

Like I have nothing better to do than let her in and let her out all day long!

This week Savannah also started karate. The tell tale sign that this is where she belongs?? First lesson, the instructor was hitting her over the head with a large stick. She thought it was awesome!

We live so close to the school and it's the first stop so it's actually a lot faster for the kids to ride the bus home. Owen was very apprehensive about it but after just one ride home, he loved it!

And it's just the cutest little bus you've ever seen! :)
Savannah does karate twice a week

Playing dodgeball while skipping!

Owen is so my child....everything lined up all perfectly and arranged by color :)

He has taken to outfitting his action figures with play doh clothes

Friday I got a real treat! Owen's teacher asked if I would come in and help with the class and make play doh. We had too much fun!
Owen and his buddy Bentley

I was really impressed with Owen....he follows directions really well and stays focused :)

This is a pic of Owen and Bentley :)

Savannah has been kind of nervous about third grade and all the testing. Friday she brought home 6 graded papers and 5 were A's and the other was a B. So proud of my girl!

Getting into the Groove

We have been in school 2 weeks now and I think (just maybe!!!) we might be getting into a sort of groove. Of course next week Owen starts full time school and Savannah starts karate, but hey.....it will be interesting that's for sure!!

Here is what we've been up two the last two weeks!

It has been like old times with Owen and I home all day together! I have been working a lot so he has had to keep himself busy! Thankfully he has a ton of toys and doesn't mind playing on his own :)

One day we met up with Catherine, Mallory, and Davey and went over to the zoo for the morning. This was the only pic I got. Owen wanted to compare his hand to a gorilla hand!

I went shopping one morning without the kids and brought home this little treat for Savannah! This is how I say "I love you" to Savannah . We had the entire bowl polished off by the next morning! We are definitely fruit lovers at our house!

The kitty is really starting to take to us finally. She frequently has one of us pinned down!

Miss Savannie lost 2 teeth over 2 weeks! She has got all kinds of things happening in her mouth! Teeth growing in, teeth falling out! Crazy!!

And finally an Owen pic. He really wanted me to keep coming upstairs to look at his creations while I was working so I finally resorted to just asking him to take pics and bring them down to show me! :)

First Day of School 2015

It seems like summer just flew by! I can't believe the kids are back in school already! Although it all went fast, I think we enjoyed our summer, had plenty of fun, and overall were excited to get back into a routine again.

The Friday evening before school started Carter Elem had an Open House where Savannie and Owen got to check out their classrooms.

Savannah is in Mrs Rudd's class and I really think it's going to be a good fit for her :)

Owen hasn't been assigned a teacher yet. He goes 2 half days and then he will be on the normal schedule. But he was very excited to sport his Carter shirt!!

First day of school! Grandma and Granpa John were here which was sweet for the girls

Kate's an 8th grader this year! Ahhhhh..... she really likes her schedule and is already making friends!

Day 2....they are so cure I just couldn't resist another pic

Look! No boot! The afternoon of the first day we saw the Orthopedic dr here in TN and he officially cleared her from all casts, boots, crutches, and such! She needs to take it easy for another 3 weeks (no jumping, running, quick turns, etc) but she is totally healed! Yay!!! That was a tough 12 weeks for her but she couldn't have been a better patient!

Finally on Thursday, Owen had his first day of Kindergarten! I am not sure who was more emotional....me or him. He teared up at drop off and I seriously considered just leaving with him! :) But we both made it through.

When I asked him if he was excited, he said "not so much"

He was however very excited to be using his matching Spiderman backpack and lunchbox again :)
Getting comfortable in the classroom
We are finally almost through the first week of school! I think we are all ready for the weekend :)

Owen is Five!

It's crazy but the day has arrived! Owen finally turned 5!

We started celebrating the evening before by going to Cheddar's for Owen's favorite snack - chips and queso!

We also ordered a Monster Cookie with ice cream :)

On the morning of his birthday we had a morning drive to Lexington and then had to pick up his cake and head over to Monkey Joe's for his party. He had a blast with his best preschool friends and even Grandma and Grandpa John were able to make it!

His TMNT Cupcake Cake

Owen wasn't thrilled to see Monkey Joe....but he did give him a high five

and allowed him to get close enough for a picture! But that was as far as he would go! Poor Monkey Joe :(

Um....I think she liked her cup cake!

Owen got tons of great gifts and he was so genuinely excited it was cute!

At hone playing with his new stuff!

The next day Owen had his last T Ball game of the season and they all played great!

The cubs!

Cutest Cub ever!!!

I just love him!
