Starting A Little Early

Today, as we do on many days, we went outside to play in the backyard. Mike was home due to Veteran's Day and of course he always likes to "try" new things. Ignoring my protests that he's too little, he put Owen in Savannah's old baby swing. At first he was a little freaked out, but after he got used to it he really enjoyed it.

Baptism

Today our three beautiful children were baptized. It was a nice service and we had lots of family there to support us. Both Owen and Savannah did well during the service and behaved during the baptism portion (we rarely worry about Kate). We then went out to lunch and enjoyed time with our immediate and extended family. Although I did not manage to get any pictures before, during, or directly after the event (they did however look completely precious in their outfits), this is what the kiddos looked like shortly after returning home :) It doesn't take long to go back to reality!!!

Camp Out!

On Friday night, Mike decided to take the girls "camping" in the backyard. They were so excited. The helped pitch the tent and gather all the sleeping bags. I bought marshmallows for them to roast. Unfortunately it was really cold that night so we had to pull out the winter sleeping clothes and their new winter jacket.

Owen and I bundled up and joined the marshmallow roasting but as soon as it was time for bed, we headed for warmer conditions. I seriously did not think that they would make it all night out there. It was in the 40's!

They did great! Aside from the 1:30 am bathroom break for Savannah, they stayed out all night! They had a blast and are so excited to go again in a few weeks :)

Halloween and Daddy's Birthday!

Yesterday was a big day in our house! Daddy turned 30 years old and it was Halloween for the kids! After church, we made Daddy and pumpkin cake!

Then we got all dressed up and went Trick-or-Treating! Kate was a bride, Savannah was a purple fairy, and poor Owen was a little pumpkin. He was so offended by his hat that he fussed the entire night until I finally took it off.

After visiting Nana and Poppa O and Grandma and Grandpa John, we went over to Poppa T's house and went trick-or-treating around his neighborhood. What fun! There were lots of houses decorated and tons of people out giving candy! Savannah got a good scare from a woman dressed up like a witch on her front porch! At the end of the night, they dumped out all their goodies and of course Savannah began to organize them and line them all up!

It was a fun Halloween for everyone!

3 Months Old

Owen is 3 months old! I can't believe how quickly time has flown by! Owen weighs about 13 1/2 pounds and is starting to outgrow many of his 0-3 month outfits. Thankfully for Mommy, he has a stock pile of clothes of all different sizes from the baby shower. And my blessed little boy slept all the way through the night last night for the first time! I laid him down at 10 pm and he didn't make a peep until 7 am this morning! Though he still doesn't do a whole other than eat and sleep, Owen is starting to show us a little more of his personality. He is smiling a lot more, especially at Mommy and Kate. He laughs out loud at his little toys on his bouncy seat. He also likes to sleep in his big crib for naps where it is dark and quiet. He gets woken up a little more easily by the girls and sometimes is just grumpy for no reason at all :) We have so enjoyed him these last three months and can't wait to see how he grows and changes over the next month!

Future Face Painter

After visiting the pumpkin patch and getting her face painted, Savannah has decided that she wants to be a face painter when she grows up. So on Friday afternoon, she set up a little face painting station in the living room and showed us her skills! Of course her "paint" was only lotion, but I think she has potential!

Kaitlyn's Girl Scouts

This year Kaitlyn joined the Girls Scouts. She is a Brownie. Her troop meets once a week. On Saturday, Kate went on her first Girl Scout field trip. They went to the Pumpkin Patch!
