Little Houdini

Lately I have been calling Owen Little Houdini. Every time I turn around he's gone! Even though he hasn't perfected the normal crawl, he is super fast with his belly or army crawl. He loves to follow his sisters around the house! We are having to get into the habit of closing gates and closing doors to keep him out of the girls rooms where there is an endless supply of choking hazards!

Last night I was cleaning up the kitchen while Mike was getting the girls into the shower. I looked up and Owen was no where to be found! After a moment of searching, I found him in Savannah's room looking at her books! So cute!!!

That makes two teachers proud!!! Then he tried out traditional crawling :)
He seems to really want to crawl normally and he has even perfected getting back into a sitting position from laying on his belly (I was very impressed!) but I think when he can't get where he needs to get fast enough, he just flops down on that belly and goes!!! :)

A New Pace

Even though school has only been out two days, we are already operating at a totally new pace. In the morning the girls and I are able to sleep in about a half an hour longer! And in the evenings, there is no homework, no rushing through the dishes and the baths to get the kids into bed at a certain time. Tonight after dinner, we played outside for over an hour!!!
Here is Kate blowing bubbles and flying the paper airplane that Mike made for her.
As usual, Savannah is upset about something and having a meltdown :)
And here is Owen swinging in his swing. He looks totally different from 6 months earlier! What a big boy he has grown to be!!! :)

Savannah's First (real) Haircut

Most of you probably remember back when Savannah was a baldy. If you don't here is a reminder:
Savannah is a hair puller....she started pulling her hair out as she would fall asleep at night. Eventually she had no hair on top and thinning hair in the back. We ended up shaving her head to break the habit. She looked like a chemo patient for a long time!!! Last summer in finally started to really get long enough to do anything with.

So lately her hair has just been a ratty mess. I noticed that she must have started pulling the front again because the back of her hair is longer than the front sides. Mike and I decided recently that it was time for her to get a trim. Normally, I would just cut it myself but because she has curly hair, I wanted to see a professional do it first.
She has been very excited about this event all week! I have been talking to her about it because I wasn't sure how she would react in the moment (remember the dentist???). She asked me if it would hurt :)
She ended up doing GREAT! She sat real still and smiled at herself in the mirror the entire time. The stylist blended her long and short hair to frame her face and just trimmed up the back.
Go Savannah go!!! You amaze me on almost a daily basis :)

Savannah's Pre-School End of the Year Celebration!

Today was the last day of school for both Kaitlyn and Savannah! Kaitlyn had a school wide fun day and Savannah's school had a completion program followed by lunch!

Here is Savannah's class lined up on stage getting ready to sing their songs for the parents.
And here is a little clip of them singing. It was so stinking cute! Owen proved to be a bit of a challenge, but I did the best I could!
After the songs, the kids were called to receive their certificates of completion. It was an exercise in patience just watching the teachers attempt to call each child up successfully and to wrangle them all back into a group at the end! They are certainly cute, but I am very thankful that I don't teach Pre-School :)

After the program, we ate pizza and sides (mostly desserts!!!) with the class and their families! What fun!!!

And here is Savannah and her favorite friend Devyn. Lucky for Savannah both she and Devyn are signed up for the summer session so they will be able to play together again soon!!!
Good Job Savannah! You are getting to be such a big girl!!!

Kate and Owen's First Dance

Love these kids :)

Tents, Gum, and Awards!!! :)

Today while I was working and the little ones were napping, Savannah made a tent in her room for her and her animals! So cute!! I love her imagination and the fact that she plays so well by herself lately.

When Kaitlyn and Mike got home from school, we set to work with her new bubble gum making kit that she got for her birthday. She was so excited because she got to create her own flavor.

It was quite fun, but man was everything a sticky mess!!! I probably should have considered that when I bought it for her!!!

Later on Papa T came over for dinner and then we all went to Kate's school and watched her get her All A's All Year Trophy. Kaitlyn has received all A's on all her report cards ever since 1st grade!!! Go Kate!!!

After the program we were off to Dairy Queen for some yummy ice cream :)
And for all her hard work and her 4's on her FCAT Kate go some good old fashion money as a reward from her parents!!!!
