Ice Pops for a Sore Mouth

So yesterday Owen did the unthinkable....he tripped while walking and smacked his face into the leg of our very solid dining table....and then he came up with a bloody mouth! Upon inspection, I noticed that his gum had a cut and that one of his front teeth was wiggly. Sound familiar? Savannah did the very same thing almost a year ago exactly!!!

Thankfully Owen's trauma wasn't nearly as violent as Savannah's but I took him to the dentist just to get it checked out! Did I mention that I LOVE Dr. Negron??? He took an x-ray of Owen's teeth and they were fine. He suggested I give him cool things to eat and Motrin for a few days.

I bought some Organic Fruit and Yogurt Smoothies and these little freezer pop makers and gave one to Owen not sure what he would think of them!
cheesy smile for the camera
Turns out he loved them. He wolfed his down so fast that the girls were convinced they were missing out and begged for one of their own. Maybe I should have tried one :) Here's to hoping that my kids don't knock anymore of their teeth out!!!

Time Out for Owen

For about the last two weeks Owen's behavior has been dramatically different than we're used to. He has always been such a laid back and happy kid but lately he is just angry! He wants my full attention at all times and if he doesn't get it, he's willing to throw a major fit to get it!!!

Yesterday I was feeding Catherine and he was whining and clinging to my leg and trying to get on my lap. When I told him no he started trying to grab Catherine's bottle and when I pushed his hand away, he actually bit me in anger!! So I picked him up and sat him in the corner. I didn't really expect him to stay there but he did!
angry and confused

crying but not moving

he decides to play with some toys that are near

major fit...he starts to scoot out of his spot
Finally when I started laughing at him, he realized he wasn't still in trouble and got up. But he stayed there for a solid 5 mins at least. I guess he learned the deal from watching his bigger sisters :)

New Year, New Stuff

One of the things that has amazed me most about having children is how fast they go through clothes, shoes, socks, etc. And for us it's times three. Ughhh....

We bought everyone new shoes at the start of school and then in October we bought Owen and Savannah another new pair. Yesterday we realized that Kate needed a new pair of dress shoes for church and Owen needed new shoes again! And while we shopped for shoes, the girls decided to pitch in a little of their own money for some cute accessories.

Owen's new shoes

Kate got a headband

Savannah pretending she doesn't want her pic taken - she got a pack of cute hair clips
And in addition to new shoes and accessories, our house recently got something new. A stone walking path near our gate doors.

Between the girls digging and the doors swinging grass was never going to grow there!! And Mike and I were tired of all the dirt/mud in our house and car! Mike and the girls did a great job!

Peek-a-Boo

Owen has found a creative way to use the playhouse that the kids got for Christmas from Nana and Papa O -
he plays peek-a-boo!! He goes in and then slams through the window and squeals with delight! It is so cute!!!
The best part is how funny he thinks it is...he just laughs and squeals.
Love you O man!

Back to School 2012

Don't get me wrong....I love my family. But I was never so glad to see them back off to school!! :) It was a busy, wonderful, and tiring 18 days off and we were all ready to get back on our normal schedule. The girls woke up great and were happy and cooperative this morning.
The only wrinkle to our morning was the fact that it was 33 degrees when we left so we were all bundled up. Thank goodness Carrie gave me Chase's winter coat from last year or Owen would have shivered the whole way!! I was wondering if it would come in handy this year and it definitely did today! Thank you!!

Savannah Sleeps

Last week while Kate spent the night at Aunt Leslie's house, Savannah decided that she wanted to spend the night out of her room. So she talked Daddy into letting her sleep in her new playhouse that she got for Christmas from Nana and Papa O.

We were shocked when she actually fell asleep! Unfortunately for us, she didn't stay asleep. She woke up screaming at 4:30 am because her hand feel asleep and was tingling!! :)

Blast from the Past!!!

I bought this play toy for Savannah around this time in 2007 and I just yesterday got it down from the attic to use for Catherine.
Savannah - Dec 2007
Owen - Jan 2011
Yesterday:

I guess they still like it!!! I hope Catherine does too! :)
