Savannah's 6th Birthday!

It's official! Savannah is 6! This year she got a super special birthday treat - we went to Wet N Wild in Orlando for the day. I am not sure any of us were more excited than Mike though :)

We started out the morning with breakfast and gifts...

She got a butterfly habitat

A bug/lizard/butterfly net

A slurpee machine

and a Shamu lunchbox
Then we were off the Wet N Wild!
A family of flip flops

We spent most of the day going on rides and in the lazy river! Owen was even able to ride one of the rides and LOVED it! I wasn't able to get many pictures but we had a great time!

Snack time!!!

Mike got a huge funnel cake with ice cream and hot fudge...wow!

Once we got back home we had Party Poppers and cupcakes!

Just look at her! She's getting so big and is actually cooperating for pictures!!!

I just love that face....sniff sniff

Not sure what look she's going for here! :)

Gymnastics Spring Show x 2

This last week was another busy one with doctors appointments and moving to dos. But we did have two treats! Both girls had their gymnastics Spring Show. They have been practicing really hard and they did an awesome job!

Unfortunately the lighting in the gym is so low that pictures rarely some out and then we didn't have the memory card in the camera for Kate's performance so we just had to get a few shots afterwards.

Floor Routine

Balance Beam

Bars!

Trampoline

This was part of her floor routine

Both girls did a great job and were so happy that Grandma, Grandpa John, Mamaw, and Pappy could come out and watch them. Thanks!!

Lexington Trip Part 2

Our second and sadly last day in Lexington was definitely the best! I had on the agenda to go to the Kentucky Horse Park and when we arrived we got a real treat! It was military appreciation day and the entire family got in free thanks to Mike's service! In addition, we got a free lunch and free pony rides! It was pretty awesome :)

On the shuttle bus to lunch and pony rides

This was Owen's first ride and he loved it!

And then sadly, all too soon it was time to go home :( And it wouldn't be a complete trip if one of my kids wasn't drama...Savannah developed a double ear infection the last day so within an hour of pulling into the driveway we were in an Urgent Care Center :)

We had a great trip and we are so excited to go back in a couple weeks! I think it will be a fabulous place to live!

Lexington Trip Part 1

We spent really just about 48 hours in Lexington but we were determined to make the most of it. Thursday afternoon when we got in it was rainy and yuck so we just drove around after we got our blue car safely into storage and checked out the sights.

This is Savannah's zoned school

Coincidentally Grandpa John was in the are so he dropped by for a visit!

Our hotel had an indoor pool so we swam 3 nights in a row!
Then Friday morning I was determined to take Kate to the Mary Todd Lincoln house. Kate has been studying the Civil War and President Lincoln so it was a perfect stop for us. Boring maybe for the little ones, but they managed to get through it :)

In the garden

If we look tired, it's because we are!

Kate and the Lincolns :)
After the tour we went to a local restaurant called Ramsey's and had a great lunch. They had some interesting things on their menu and we actually had a ask about a few of the condiments!

Kate got a banana frank....a banana with peanut butter on a bun. She loved it!
After lunch we went to a local park. It was beautiful! So much green!!!

This park has fishing, paddle boats, a playground, and a dog park! We will be back to this park for sure :)

Welcome to Kentucky!

This past week the family went on an exploring trip to Lexington Kentucky! Mainly we went to nail down housing but we also wanted to go to help get the kids excited about the move. When you hear that Lexington is horse country, it's no joke! Here is a little preview to our trip:

After 12+ hours in the car, we were thrilled to finally be there!

We quickly realized just how much they love horses! They have horse statues just about everywhere :) This one was a jeweled one outside a downtown shop.

This one is inside a cool restaurant called Ramsey's....a must stop if you ever visit

Outside restaurants

In parks

Literally just about everywhere we went :)

I see riding lessons in their future :)

And we were super excited to line up a place to live when get there in just three weeks!!! Here is our house-to-be...

I am thinking that there is definitely room for a painted horse statue in our front yard!!!

And here is a video I took of Owen a few weeks ago when he was really into making faces! This kid is so stinking cute!

Field Trip to Publix and the Park

The absolute best thing about being a stay at home(ish) mom is being able to make it to the girls school events! I just love going on field trips with the kids and coming to all their little performances. This week I got to chaperone Savannah's field trip to Publix and the park.

At Publix, they got to watch a cake being decorated....and taste the icing...

They learned about all the different foods that are sold

And even toured the freezer!

Happy Girl

Looking good in her hair net :)

She abandoned me at the park! Too much playing to be done to hang out with boring old Mom

Although she did permit me to push her and her friends on the tire swing :)
