Owen has become quite the character lately...

Owen was jumping on the bed and got his foot stuck under the mattress...

I couldn't figure out what he wanted but he stayed pretty calm!

Owen decided to catch Savannah in his laundry basket!

and he wouldn't let her out!!! It was awesome!!!!

I can't believe he's 2 and a half! His little personality is really developing and he is just so sweet and lovable. He actually told me that I was his best friend the other day! I totally melted!!!

First Day All Over Again!

Tuesday was the girls first day at their new school. After working at Treadway for 9 weeks and then driving the girls back and forth for another 9 weeks, I was thrilled to finally transfer them to Eustis Elementary School!!! I bought myself about an hour a day, five days a week.....yay!!!

From the looks of it they are pretty excited too! They both wanted to wear EES shirts and were excited to meet their new teachers. Kaitlyn got Mrs. Lewis who is a great friend of mine from when I worked there so she was super happy! Savannah got Mrs. Schneck who was Kate's kindergarten teacher so I was really happy :)

Playing out in the yard after school. Savannah came home happier than I have ever seen her after school and Kate had significantly less homework!! :) That's a good start!

Ortho Tain!

There are definitely perks to having grandparents!! My mom works in a dental company and as one of her job perks, she is able to get free dental care for her family which lucky for us includes me and the kids! And when our dentist expressed concern this December about crowding teeth in Kate's mouth, Mom scheduled an appointment for Kate to get Ortho Tain.

Ortho Tain is a fitted retainer like thing that Kate has to wear for an hour a day and every night as she sleeps that will help expand her arch and hopefully shift her crowded teeth and allow the rest of her teeth to come in nice and straight! She will do this for about 10 months and I am thrilled because if it works well, it could save her from needing braces when she's older.

Thanks Grandma! You're the best!!!

The History of our Chair Rail

As I was painting Owen's chair rail last weekend I couldn't help but remember all the times I had painted it in the past. As the chief painter in the family, I have painted that chair rail 5 times! Here is the history:

The first color I painted it was white. I made our front bedroom into what I had hoped would be a little nursery....but no pictures :( and coincidentally...no baby :)

And then came Kate....and color number two -

purple

And about a year later it was Savannah's room...and the third color -

pink

And then just last year we redid Savannah's nursery into a crazy bright big girls room -

back to purple! #4

and finally the fifth color....blue!

I can't believe that all three of my kids have now each had a turn in that room! I still remember to this day when we found out we were going to get Kaitlyn and I immediately went out shopping to decorate her room and fill her dresser and toy box! It was the most fun and exciting time for me! Six years later I am still thrilled to make my boy happy with a room all his own!

New Dresses...New Room...sort of...

For Christmas Savannah got a new church dress and Kate got two! Check them out!

Owen thinks he is cute too!

After my post about Owen's new bed the fact that he was still in a girly room really started to bother me. I am trying to hold off doing a huge room renovation until Mike and I figure out our job/living/furniture situation. But when something starts to bug me it's like an itch!!! So I decided to make a minor change instead.

I painted the chair rail blue...

and added some car themed stickers...

and I painted the corner shelves although he has nothing on them yet :)

Owen really likes his new boy room and I do too!!! It was worth the small amount of effort and money.

It's Been a While...

During the three short months that I was teaching this fall Owen went to the Dr sick five times! And since the end of October when I quit he hasn't been sick or to the Dr at all!!! Until now...poor Owen threw up in the nursery at church on Wed evening :( He came home with a fever and did not sleep good at all! He woke up Thursday morning with a rash and diarrhea....yuck!

Here he is after his mid morning bath due to diaper explosion! Right now he is drinking apple juice but adamantly refusing to eat anything!! Hoping its not the flu!!
