10 months :)

Oh my, I can't believe it's time again for another month picture! These last 10 months I have been so proud of Owen and his getting bigger and being more of a kid. Now that I only have 2 more months of his being an infant, I am getting a little panicky :) I have completely changed my mind and have decided I don't want him to get bigger! I love my snuggly little boy just where he is! :)

This month has been pretty low key for Owen. Nothing super new going on with him. He is definitely trying to crawl, but I honestly think that he is just too heavy to move himself. He does manage to get around by scooting when he needs to though. :)

Owen was sick the last couple weeks of the month so he has actually lost weight. When I took him to the Dr. last, he weighed in at 22 lbs 7.5 oz. So he lost about a half a pound since last month. Poor baby - but I am sure it won't take him long to beef back up :)
He went to the beach for the first time this month. He looked so adorable in his beach hat!! He really seemed to like the water and the sand. He also swam in the pool several times this month.
I can't believe how quickly time has passed! It seems like just yesterday that we were at the beach and I was still pregnant! Mike and I both count these last 10 months as such a blessing with our little baby boy! He is such a joy and a miracle! As we were singing Happy Birthday to Savannah this weekend, I couldn't help but think about how in just two short months we will be singing it to Owen!

Savannah's Birthday Part 2 - The Beach!!!

Yay! It's Savannah's 4th Birthday!!! When she woke up, we measured her up against the door frame where we have measured her and Kate's heights ever since we adopted them.

What's funny is that Savannah is just a tiny bit talller at 4 than Kate was when she turned 5. I can't wait to see where Owen measures up to Savannah at 1 year!

Then we were off to the beach! Ever since about December or January when we were invited by Mike's parents (Nana and Papa O) to the beach for the weekend of Savannah's birthday, she has been so excited that she was going to the beach for her birthday! She has told everyone she can think of that she's going to the beach on her birthday and she's going to have cake and watermelon :) Nana and Papa O decorated the room for her birthday!! :) And her cake turned out precious!

After a yummy lunch and cake, Savannah opened her gifts! She made out!!!

She got a ton of clothes, a barbie fishing pole, bug kits, bubble gum making kit, bubbles, kites, hair bows, and even money!!! I think even Mike and I were a little jealous :)

After the party, we went down to the beach!
Kaitlyn and Savannah had a blast with the kites.

We were lucky and got to spend the night at the beach. The next morning we ate breakfast, went back to the beach, hung at the pool and then went bowling!

What a great weekend and a memorable birthday!!! We all had a blast!

Savannah's 4th Birthday Part 1

Even though Savannah's birthday isn't until Sunday, we decided to celebrate it all weekend!
Friday we went to see my Dad (whose birthday it was that day) and exchange gifts. We baked Papa T some yummy brownies and he got Savannah this adorable pillow pet.

Kaitlyn got all the coins in Papa T's piggy bank!! Man was she excited!

Saturday morning Mike took Savannah to the post office to pick up her birthday package from Uncle Jack and Aunt Carrie that we missed Friday! She asked Mike if the post office is where all the birthday presents lived. :)

She got a foam board craft kit with glitter glue! She LOVES glue right now :) She and Kate set right to work! Kaitlyn made her a little foam coin purse.

Also as part of Savannah's gift from the family she got to choose a new color to paint her bedroom. She chose her new favorite color yellow. Here is her room before and after:

My oh my is her room bright!!! :)

After all the painting, we went over to Grandma and Grandpa John's to go swimming and have cupcakes. She also got a couple gifts here. She got 2 new dresses, puzzles, water balls, another outfit, and a lite brite. What a great birthday!

Both Owen and Mike attempted to bathe in the ice cream. Man is that boy a spitting image of his Daddy!

I seriously can't believe she is four years old. I can remember when she was the same age as Owen is now. Truly the years have just flown by! But she is getting to be so sweet and so much more responsible as she grows up. I love that I can ask her to get me a diaper or to bring me a wipe and she jumps right to it without complaint. It reminds me of her helpful big sister :) Kaitlyn has been a terrific model for Savannah. We are just so blessed to have them both :)

It's a 4 for Kate!!!

Yesterday Kaitlyn brought home a golden ticket!! She took the FCAT test back in April and she finally got her results!

My girl got a 4 in both Reading and Math!!! This is wonderful. Passing is a 3, so for her to get a 4 is amazing! This means that she is working on or above grade level and she can move on to the 4th grade. Yay! Go Kate!

Still Sick :(

Poor baby is still sick! This is now Day 4 and he is still running a very high fever. He is so pathetic. He fell asleep on the play mat while I was getting Savannah ready for school. We are watching him very closely for dehydration now because he is not eating and drinking very much. So I am now on wet diaper patrol!!!! :)

Sad Little Bunny

Owen had a really rough night last night. He was up every 2 hours whining and miserable. His temperature spiked up every 4 hours so we were alternating Tylenol and Motrin all day yesterday and all night. And after taking just a few sips of formula at 3 am, he threw up all over Mike. It was rough!!!!

This morning he was worse. He was refusing food and just completely miserable. The poor kid was even too miserable to sleep. It would take me an hour to get him to sleep and then 20 mins later he'd be whimpering :( So sad!!!

Savannah was sweet enough to bring him these bunny ears to play with while he sat in his chair next to me. He wasn't so thrilled. What a sad little bunny :)

I figured out that the antibiotics weren't working and he was acting worse, so I got him into the Dr. Turns out my thermometer wasn't accurate. I took his temp at home and it was 101.2 and when we checked into the Dr. fifteen minutes later it was 103.2! No wonder he was so miserable.

Sweet little Owen has a stomach bug that has been going around the area. The Dr. said it's all she's seen all day. And it takes about 4 days to pass :( So we're about halfway there! I just hope no one else comes down with it.

Smoke Balls, Sick Baby, and Supportive Shopper

This weekend was kind of a hodge podge of activity for us. Saturday we needed to pick up a few things at Target and of course anytime Daddy comes shopping with us a few extra items end up in the cart. Yesterday it was smoke balls, snaps, and spinning eye balls. Ever since our stop at the fire works place in Georgia he has been obsessed with fireworks - as are my daughters.

Here is Kate dancing in the smoke from the smoke balls!

Saturday afternoon we went over to my Mom and John's house and went swimming. When we got there I noticed that Owen felt a little warm. I gave him some Tylenol and we ate and swam. As we were getting ready to leave, I felt him and he was warm again! My baby had a fever.

Here is Owen sleeping and miserable with a fever.
Thankfully the doctor gave me a prescription for an antibiotic when I brought him in last week. She said that his ears looked good that day but if he started running a fever to fill the prescription. So we filled it and when I got him home his temp was 101.3. Poor baby!

Sunday morning, I stayed home from church with Owen since he was still running a fever. Unfortunately, I needed to out and do a little shopping because we are headed to the beach next weekend and I still don't have a bathing suit. I hated leaving Owen when he was sick, but today was my last chance. So Savannah and I headed out for an afternoon of shopping. She was so supportive!!! She was saying, "oh here Mommy, this is beautiful! Try this one!" In all, I got a bathing suit, two shirts, a pair of flip flops, and a dress.

She even carried my bags!!! All I had to do was buy the girl a soft pretzel with cheese and she was great for me!! She is getting to be such a big girl!!!!
