If you didn't notice from my lack of posts, it's been a tough week at the Oliver house! It was the second week of school (we're all still tired!!) and Owen was still sick all week long! Thankfully Nana was able to watch him both Monday and Thursday of this week! Mike took Monday off and I took Wednesday off. Papa T volunteered to watch him Friday and I decided to take the afternoon off on Friday to just bring the girls home and get some rest!!!
Owey played hard with Papa T all morning and then just totally hit a wall about 1:00!! :) I am really hoping this three day weekend will make all the difference for him! Poor little guy has been sick for a whole week :(
While I tried to pay bills and get caught up on some household stuff (which is also a challenge right now) the girls chilled out in Savannah's room and watched a DVD.
Sweet Kate seems to be functioning the best right now! She is such a trooper!!! Savannah (are we surprised?) is having some transitioning issues right now and is pretty much wiped out every afternoon. And Mike and I have both been putting in extra time at night getting situated with work. Hopefully these next three days will be restful and rejuvenating for us all!!!

What happens when your parents head back to work...
You have to make your own lunch on the weekends!!!
On Saturday I ran up to school to get some work done while the kids had lunch and Owen napped. Apparently Mike was feeling as tired and overwhelmed as I was because he made the girls fix their own lunches!!! Every now and then Kate will make her own, but I think this is the first time Savannah has done it :)
Yum, yum!!!! Unfortunately for them, this might be a every weekend kind of thing!! Their parents are tired right now!! My girls are getting to be so big and so responsible!!! I just love them to pieces :)

After the first week!
So it has now been a full week of school, two full weeks back at work for Mike and I, and three weeks of daycare for Owen. Wow!! We are all exhausted! :) We survived the week pretty well but poor Owen caught a nasty stomach virus that was flying around his daycare so he had to come home early on Friday!
The girls slept in on Saturday morning and then immediately wanted some time outside to play!
Owen has gotten used to waking up between 5 and 6 am for school so now he is waking up around that time everyday! That's annoying!!! So by about 9 am he was totally miserable and highly offended that I dared to take his picture :)
So we're hoping that his little virus doesn't spread through the house and that he's better soon so we can start back up on Monday! Next week will be another busy one as the girls both start gymnastics classes!

First Day of School 2012!
The day finally came when all five Olivers headed off to school! Kate started 5th grade, Savannah started Kindergarten(oh my!!), and Owen started his pre-school officially with his new class and teachers today!!!! Mike and I both are teaching this year so it was a busy but exciting morning!!!
We had a great first day!! We all came home exhausted, took our turn having meltdowns, and couldn't wait to see our beds but overall I can't complain!!!

We actually had a pretty smooth morning!! Look at my Savannie smiling!!! |

Here we go again!!!
And the time has come.....
I know some of you must think I am crazy but I swear it's easier to pack all the lunches on Sunday than it is to pack two every night all week long! We dread it but it helps us not completely forget about them. This year to make my life a little easier the girls are going to buy lunch once a week so that means I only have to pack 8 lunches a week!!!
And while I was busy packing their lunches, the kids were playing chef and waitress too!!!
Oh for the day they will actually make their own lunches!!! :)

Just a Little Heads Up
In case you haven't heard me complain about it already, I am headed back to school this year teaching 3rd grade again!! I loved every minute of being at home with my babies (ok not really every, but most minutes) however the time has come to head back to work! So it has been two weeks of hard training/prepping already and the students start on Monday!!! Kate is starting 5th grade and Savannah is entering Kindergarten and they will both be with me at my new school. If you don't see a new post for a while, life has just gotten crazy! I am committed to keeping up with the blog but it just may take me a few weeks or months to figure out how to balance it all!
This week has been especially exhausting so I literally have no new pics!!! I am going to share a few random ones from the last month that didn't make the blog yet :)
Wish us all luck on Monday!!! Life is going to change at the Oliver house!!!

Ouch times Four!
So after a long week of working in my classroom climbing up and down on chairs and crawling under tables to organize computer cords, Saturday afternoon I noticed pain in my knee and a little swelling. Possibly a sign of my increasing age? Fabulous!!! I decided just to wrap it up and give it a little rest. Well, my three kiddos were so sweet. They wanted to know what happened to Mommy and then Savannah offered to doctor me up with the first aid kit! :) When I told her I was just fine, this is what transpired!
Every one of them had a injury within minutes and using medical tape wrapped themselves up too! :) Very cute!

Fishing on Lake Eustis
One afternoon while I was at my teacher orientation and Owen was at daycare, Mike took the girls fishing on Lake Eustis. Savannah got a fishing pole for her birthday and she's been nagging us to take her since Memorial Day weekend!
They had a great time and can't wait to go again!!!
Kate got to pick out her own pole! |

First Day of School for Owen and Mommy
Monday was the first day of daycare for Owen and the first day of teacher training for me! Mike and the girls were able to stay home so it was kind of sad, but we made the best of it!
It's always hard getting into a new routine, especially one that requires a pre 6 am wake up, but I think that Owen and I had a great first week.

Science Center....again!
Right before Mike and I had to report back to work, we decided to take the kids to the Science Center one more time. We have been there several times now but the one thing that we haven't done is get into the tornado simulator in the Weather area. They have one of these at the mall and Savannah is always asking but I wasn't sure she'd like it and I didn't want a scene in the middle of the mall :)
Savannah got into construction and Owen was determined to wreck her progress :)
Kate spent some time reporting the weather and Savannah got to make a mold of a dinosaur!
It was a nice calm way to wrap up our summer fun!!!
we all went in and we all loved it! |

Wet 'n Wild
Because the week of Owen's birthday is my last week before I start back to work again we decided to make the most of it and really do some fun activities. Wet 'n Wild has been on Mike's to do list for a while so I finally agreed now that Savannah and Owen are older and more able to enjoy it. When we pulled up and the girls saw the water slides, they started screaming with joy and I just knew it was going to be a good day!
It was definitely not the best place for taking pictures so I only got a few but we stayed for about seven hours so I think we made the best of it! Savannah was able to ride a lot of the water slides and Owen enjoyed some of the smaller things.
After we left and made it home we were all wet and tired so we immediately changed into our pajamas and Owen didn't waste time getting into his new superman p.j.'s and snuggling with Elmo in his new chair.

After a long day at the zoo, we had a few family members over to help eat Owen's birthday cake! And he got to open his birthday presents :)
Owen made out! He got quite a bit of cash, clothes, a remote control car, a new book, a couple new DVDs, and a Lets Rock Elmo! He was super excited!!
