So I didn't realize it when I signed Owen up at his pre-school how much like school is actually is. I just kind of thought they said pre-school because it sounds sweeter than daycare. I am finding out however, that they really run it like a school. Owen has a back pack and a folder that I am required to check daily. He does lots a little crafts, is learning his colors and his numbers, and he even has a behavior chart!!!
I am not sure if I am excited about how much information I am getting or I am just overwhelmed with having one more child with nightly "needs".
Now I am just kind of wondering if I am going to be called in for a parent teacher conference if he keeps up his naughtiness!!! :)

The Last Day of Swimming
Now that we are back in school full swing and especially since we are so busy with gymnastics and church we haven't had a lot of time for swimming. So when my mom called and asked if we wanted to swim one last time this year, the obvious answer was YES!!!
It was a nice afternoon of swimming and eating but too soon it was time to go and get ready for school the next day. Good bye pool - we'll see you in the Spring!
Savannah jumped right in! |
Kate tip toed in |
and Owen just wanted to play with the pool toys |
Kate's still not all the way in! |
After dinner, Owen had completely stripped, colored on himself, and decided he needed to wear the pink goggles!! |
What a sight! |

Oh Savannah!
I haven't done a "Savannah" post in a while, so here goes! This girl keeps Mike and I on our toes pretty much all day long every day.
This particular day Owen woke up with a chesty cough and I decided that he needed to just have a breathing treatment for good measure. It's been a while since we have done them and Savannah seems to have forgotten how much she used to hate doing them.
Take a look at these...
And then there is Owen...
He was amazing with having the mask on but she just kept pestering me about doing one herself. So finally I let her "help" Owen!
I have no doubt that this girl is going to get exactly what she wants out of her life!!! What a girl she is!!! Love you Savannah Grace!
A picture she took of Hogan sleeping....yes, this girl even annoys our dog! |
It's September yes, however it's still in the high 80's during the day and she insisted on wearing these pajamas out in the back yard to play!!! |

One Tough Day...
This is starting to become a theme on my blog but Thursday we had yet another tough day. Mike was gone until late so I had all the kids by myself. I knew it was going to be a rough day right from the start!! Savannah woke up basically miserable complaining that her stomach was hurting. She didn't want to eat and was just a wet mop of a human being!
I realized pretty quickly that Savannah was sick so we left school at about noon and came home. The Dr had her come in and thinks she just has a virus. That evening Owen had his PreSchool Open House so we loaded up and went over there.
We finally made it home at about 7:00 and we were in for the night. Being back at work and back to school has been really tough on our family but I am hoping that this chaos doesn't last too long!
I am still not used to getting up at 5 am!!! |
Poor girl....she hates the early wake up more than anyone! |
Happy Go with the Flow Kate! |
We are in a pretty good routine, but this morning she just wasn't cooperating. |
I am still amazed at the amount of stuff we leave the house with each day |
Owen decided to eat his breakfast on the floor |
Here he is playing in his classroom - when I asked him to sit in his chair so I could get a picture I guess he thought I was leaving him again because he just started crying!!! Poor baby :) |

Another Milestone
Ok well, maybe it isn't technically a milestone, but I am a proud Mama! Owen took his first chewable vitamin this weekend!!!
He keeps calling them treats and asking for more once he finishes. Both my girls made such a production about them (and sometimes still do!!) that I was convinced he wouldn't cooperate. I guess that is one benefit of having a boy....less drama!
And to add a little side note, Owen is growing up so fast now that he's in daycare!! He is talking non-stop and his new favorite sentence is, "Don't touch it." If I go to hold his hand or help him down the steps or even take his back pack off he looks at me and says "Don't touch it." Nice!!! :)

Love these kids...
Since I have started back to work my interactions with my own kids have become pretty limited compared to what they used to be! It has really made me appreciate how fun they are and how incredibly cute too!!
Saturday evening the girls decided to have a squirt bottle fight out in the back yard. It was so much fun the neighbor kids ended up coming out and joining them!
Notice all the pictures are of Savannah charging and Kate retreating. I finally had to tell Kate to squirt her back!!!

Sea World
Today was the day my family has been looking forward to since Dec 2009 - the day we got our Sea World passes again!!!! Teachers in FL get a free study pass to sea world so we bought the girls each a pass and Owen still gets in free (thankfully!).
Savannah had a great week this last week so her special treat was to get to feed one of the animals but lucky for all of us they had a deal. For $10 you could feed three different animals rather than $5 for one. So we all got to feed something!
Soon it was time for lunch!
Unfortunately we forgot to remember where we parked our car when we got there so we spent about 20 mins looking for the van but overall it was a great day together :) We are definitely going back again soon!!
Owen is still scared of large characters :) |
but the girls loved him!! |
Owen got an Elmo hat - so cute!! And he was easy to identify with it on :) |
We fed the sharks |
the seal lions |
and the sting rays |
It was a pretty hot day but thankfully there was a breeze :) |
Shamu shaped soft pretzel |
She spent more time chasing birds than eating |
Kate loved the dolphins |
After riding Atlantis with Mama and Savannah |
In Shamu's Happy Harbor |
The girls took Owen down the big slide |
And then he was out!!! |

Loving Labor Day!
Monday was Labor Day and we had the day off! It was like a bonus day for us :) I was so giddy and excited to be off an extra day I decided to go all out and make it count. We started off with a late breakfast at Denny's and then Mike headed off to school to get some work done while I took the kiddos to the park to ride bikes.
No matter how hard I tried I couldn't convince Owen that riding in his stroller was better than riding a bike....look how annoyed he is...even with the helmet and pom pom :)
After we rode for a while we decided to grab and drink of water and head over to the play area!
By 11:30 we were hot, hot, hot! We went home to relax and cool off. Later on that afternoon we went over to Grandma and Grandpa John's house to swim and have a cookout.
It was a wonderful Labor Day weekend and I for the most part feel ready and able to get back to work. The best news is that Owen is all over his virus and is ready to go back to pre-school :) Yay!!!
