Birthday Fun! Or not...

So unfortunately the week of Kate's birthday Owen came down with a stomach virus and Tuesday afternoon Savannah had it too! So Wednesday Kate went off to school and the rest of us stayed home. That was pretty sad. But by the time she got home, Savannah was much much better and Owen had been doing better too.



In true Kate fashion, she rolled with the punches and was happy regardless :)

We decided for Kate's sake since Mike had to leave for DC that evening and she had youth group we would go out for a quick dinner at her favorite - Cracker Barrel. She was craving breakfast for dinner :)

Too bad for Kate we didn't get to the desert part! After taking a few bites of Mac and Cheese, Owen threw up at the table! Yep, that was us! The freak show of a family!

So we did cards and dessert in the car! She got a drive through Frosty from Wendy's and dropped off at church!


Still happy! She only wanted cash for her birthday this year!

Thankfully for us (we failed big time this b-day) the youth group brought her cupcakes and a few little gifts so she was able to celebrate with non-barfing people!


Thursday morning, guess who woke up sick?

The good news is that a few extra hours of sleeping in and some Motrin pretty much cured her.

This year instead of a party she decided to invite one of her school friends over this weekend for some shopping and hanging out! I am really hoping that goes better than the actual birthday! Poor Kate! Being 12 isn't easy!

Happy Birthday Kate!! I simply can't believe that my sweet Kate is 12 years old today! We've been through a lot in the last 7 and a half years since we met our girl but it's been an amazing journey and I wouldn't trade one moment of being her Mom! I just wish she weren't getting so big so fast!

Savannah's Post

I have noticed how Owen heavy the blog has been lately so I have an entire post dedicated to Miss Savannah!

These days getting off to school is a little easier!

Savannah is growing up so fast it's scary!!! She's made the last 6 and a half years fun and exciting! I can't believe she's about to finish 1st grade. Where oh where does the time go?

Owen had an exciting weekend this weekend! He was invited to his first real birthday party! And it was at Chuck E Cheese with all of his pre-school buddies! We had so much fun!!!

Mike finally insisted that we stop simply buzzing Owen's hair, so he needed to get a professional cut!

He did great and came home all excited about the experience!

Owen has been really goofy lately and he has been making us laugh with his antics! Check him out this past weekend!

We are so proud of him for learning how to peddle because we sure didn't teach him! The third child I fear is destined to learn a lot by trial and error! I feel bad for those kids who come from really big families because after doing things twice parents get lazy!

And here he is working on his dance moves! I just love that he is so serious about it!

Not Much Has Changed!

Clearly, not much has changed!

In my defense, this child rarely starts out in our bed but he somehow manages to wind up here pretty regularly! However, you probably couldn't find two pics of either of my girls in bed with me! I am obviously less disciplined with the last one! He will outgrow this, right?

Blur of a Week

This past week was kind of a big blur. Monday and Tuesday were snow days and then Wednesday they did go to school but on a 2 hour delay so Kate didn't leave until almost 11:00! By the time Thursday rolled around it felt more like Monday and then Friday was here! What a weird week!

Not much interesting going on here and I am in a sort of rebellion when it comes to housework, cooking, and such! Spring needs to hurry up and get here :)

But here are a few highlights from this weird week!

The kids found the Growing Crystal kit from last Valentine's Day and begged to do another experiment!

What else is there to do on a snow day?

Finally when they did go back to school, it was Read Across America Week, otherwise known as all things Dr. Suess!

It was Wacky Wednesday so she wore all her clothes backwards and her hair like Cindy Lou Who!

Her teacher fussed over her so much on Wed that she insisted I do her hair again on Friday!

Thursday was PJ Day at Owen's preschool! Check out his cute class!

Before you feel completely sorry for us, we are supposed to have temps in the mid 60's this week so the end might actually be in sight! :) Yay! What a weird winter this has been!

Snow Day #12

This time it was a lot of snow! I think the storm's name was Titan....pretty appropriate :) After lunch, Mike took the kids outside to run off a little energy.
