Kate Update

After Kaitlyn broke her ankle on Sunday afternoon, we had to wait until Friday morning to see the Orthopedic Dr. So for 4 days we were cooped up at home with Kate on bedrest.

Owen and Kate hanging out on the couch

And I gave her a pedicure!

Finally we were finally able to get into the Orthopedic Dr. We found out that her break was worse than we originally thought and we were given a temporary wrapping and sent to get a CT scan.

We were scheduled to come back on Tuesday to find out if she would need surgery or not.

So in the meantime, she was still on bedrest. But before we got back home, we went out for a nice lunch.

She chose Seafood Alfredo from Olive Garden
Tuesday finally rolled around and we found out that she in fact didn't need surgery! Yay!! But she did need a full leg cast and weekly x-rays.

Grandma and Grandpa John were in town in case she needed surgery

And Kate got to ride in their new convertible!

She also got treated to a banana split!!!

Nowadays you can find her navigating the house, climbing the stairs, and even making it outside to sit in the sunshine!!! She is such a trooper!

Ouch!

So Sunday was a rough day here in Lexington! It started off really nice though....we went to church. Kate and I volunteered in the nursery and then we came home and had a nice lunch. It was a couple hours later when the girls decided to ride their bikes that trouble happened!

Kate was apparently trying to catch up to Savannah and got going too fast and lost control of her bike. Thankfully most of her landed in the grass but her ankle and foot took the brunt of the force....against the concrete sidewalk   :(   Boo.....

Off to Urgent Care we went and we found out that Kate broke her ankle. We were all a little freaked out because she is the safe, cautious, never sickly one. But even in the face of pain she is always smiling!

She broke her ankle in two places. One of those places was on a growth plate so we were referred to an orthopedic doctor. And of course we cannot get in for an appt until Friday morning so she has to be on bed rest until then. She was in quite a bit of pain on Sunday and Monday but thankfully is feeling much better now that she is all wrapped up and the swelling has gone down some.

On a slightly funnier note, it appears Target might be my go to place for over the counter meds. All this was on the corner of my dresser the other day! :)

Big Kid!

This week Owen finished up with his MWF preschool! They had a Spring Program on Friday and it was super cute! After the program we went shopping for T-Ball stuff!

The kids sang 4 songs and did such a good job!

Owen and Lenox and their teachers!

Such a big boy!
Later on that day Savannah had an appt and while we were in the waiting room we looked out the window and saw this!
a little family of ducks....or maybe they are geese....either way the little babies are cute!

Getting T Ball supplies turned out to be a little more work than I anticipated! Maybe because every time I turned around I saw this or this.....

Or this!!!

Finally! Owen is ready for T-Ball.....at least from the waist down!

An old pic from this month....Mike took the kiddos on a hike one Saturday

We're Back.....for a minute!!!

So it's been almost a month since my last blog post and I can honestly say it doesn't feel like it's been that long! We have been so super busy! Finishing up the school year, preparing for our Knoxville move, and activities have kept us moving! But we are getting to fun parts of this month too!

So while I will probably not post as often as I used to, I am hoping to post our end of the year celebrations.

First up, Owen invited his favorite friend Lenox to come over and play after school one day and they had so much fun! We got out the inflatable pool and slip N slide because it was in the mid 80's that day!

The next day Owen had a Mother's Day Tea at Preschool, Savannah had her last gymnastics lesson, and Kate had her Spring Chorus Program. All in one day.....see what I mean about busy?????

His other best bud Karson. Karson's mom was his Mommy for the Tea because I was busy working!!! :) Owen didn't seem to mind one little bit!

Some of our kids singing to the Moms

One of my favorite babies....she reminds me so much of Savannah! She ate that entire donut!!!

Savannah at gymnastics!

Kate's Chorus Program!

By the time we got ice cream to celebrate afterwards and got everybody home, we were all exhausted! It was a great day though :) Lots to be proud of!
