We have all been waiting patiently for Owen to crawl, but he just doesn't seem interested. But the last two days he has been getting quite wiggly. He is rolling and scooting and stretching to get where he needs to be.
Yesterday, I caught him attempting to get into the crawling position. He had one foot stuck and couldn't maneuver and as soon as he saw that I was watching he sat right back down. He is even trying to pull himself up onto the coffee table. So I think we're getting somewhere.
Today I put him here on the play mat when I started to do my work.
A while later I looked up and saw him all the way over here!
I am not sure this is technically mobile, but he's moving alright!!!
Eventually he ended up here - crying into a pom pom because he got stuck and bumped his head on the table :)

Misery loves Company
Owen and I both have been having a tough week so far. Poor Owey is teething again. I think that if parents didn't forget how miserable it is to have a teething baby, there would be a lot of one child families :) Man, he is foul!!! On top of that, the poor kid has a cold which has given him a cough, runny nose, ear ache, and the icing on the cake - a viral rash all over his chest and belly.
I have been dieting the last couple weeks and severely reducing my caffeine intake. I also (yay!!) have been actually using our elliptical machine in the laundry room. And while I lost a little weight already, I am hopelessly grouchy! Plus I am home with Owen 24 hours a day! I will NOT post any pictures, but I also have been throwing a tantrum or two :)

Bathroom Make Over
Last night I had a dream (or maybe a nightmare!) about the kids' bathroom. I realized how dingy and boring it has become. We were planning on getting a new shower curtain today so Kate can shower upstairs but it occurred to me that we needed to just make over the whole bathroom!
Here are the before pictures:
And after a couple hours of shopping and a couple hours of painting, here are the after pictures:
I am so pleased with how it came out. Now it has a more big kid feel, it works for both the girls and Owen, and it will give them a nice little jolt of color in the mornings! :)

A Precious Gift
Savannah made this for me as a Mother's Day gift at her pre-school. So cute....and I plan on her using it too :)
She was so proud that the paint was my favorite color. What a sweetie!

Kate in the Kitchen - Again!
Last night, Kate and I tried out another recipe from her Kids in the Kitchen. We chose the Taco Chili Bake in honor of Cinco de Mayo (a few days late!!)
We took milk and biscuit mix and made a biscuit bottom layer, spread chili over that for the next layer, added a layer of cheese, and then a biscuit on top. We baked it for about 25 mins and then melted cheese over the top and then added sour cream.
It was an easy meal and was better than we all expected! Yum Yum!!!
We all cleaned our plates (Owen even helped me clean mine!) except for Savannah who adamantly refused to eat it. I think she just didn't really know what it was and decided she didn't want to try it. Maybe next time :)

Mother's Day 2011
This year I celebrated my 5th Mother's Day. I think each one gets better and better. And now that my girls understand what Mother's Day is all about, they too help to make it special!
My morning started out with and egg breakfast (which I did not cook) and then Mike arranged for us all to do a family craft! So fun! :) Our girls seriously love crafts!
Then we were off to church!
After church, we headed over to my mom's house for a little dip in her swimming pool! Owen got a new pool float for this season and we tried him out in it! He was so chilled out and mellow.
Even though it's been several months since the girls swam last, they just jumped in and swam like pros.
After swimming, we paid a visit to Nana and Papa O's house and then came home and had a yummy steak dinner (which I didn't have to cook!!!) Yay! It was a very relaxing and sweet Mother's Day. And the best part was I didn't get barfed on and I didn't have to change a single poopy diaper all day! :)

The Best Mother's Day Gift
Because Owen is our last baby, I have been extra determined to get pictures and video of him at every stage. With Kaitlyn, we didn't meet her until she was almost 5 and with Savannah, Mike and I were so busy working and taking care of kids that we didn't appreciate the milestones like we should have. We didn't even get a video camera until she was like 9 months or so.
Owen has been saying "mama" for a while now but every time I try to get it on film he goes quiet. So today I was so excited to get him saying it!!! I am so writing this down as his first word!!!! I love it! It's the best early Mother's Day gift :) Thanks Owey :)
