Owen Surgery Update

Owen had his hypospadias repair surgery yesterday. He did great! The surgery was a little over 3 hours and we got great news. We thought that he would have to have his surgery in stages - one now and then another in about 6 months. As it turns out, the Dr was able do the full repair yesterday. Yay! That hopefully will save any future surgeries.

We were discharged yesterday afternoon and got home without a hitch. He had a rough couple of hours after all the good pain meds wore off but by about 8:00 he had eaten and was resting comfortably.

Currently, Owen has pressure dressings and a catheter in place. He has to wear a double diaper to keep the catheter draining into a clean diaper :) It's actually really cute. He has a very squishy tushy.

I am taking him back to the urologist today to have some of the pressure bandages removed and then he will go back in about a week to have the rest of the dressings and the catheter removed. After that there will be a six to eight week follow up and then hopefully he will be done with all the urology stuff! Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers for him yesterday!!!
