Hot!

Last night Mike and I decided to take a night off from cooking and just order pizza and wings. The recovery from our weekend was more than we anticipated and we were all just tired and hungry.

We all chowed down on some delicious Hawaiian pizza and Mike loved his hot wings. But Savannah as always wanted to try the wings. This girl loves chicken wings just like her Daddy. I keep telling her they are hot and will give her a belly ache, but she insists every time :)
Two peas in a pod!

She has to fan off her lips after each bite!

Next she chugs her drink!

She finally decides they are just too hot for her!

Four Times a Flu Shot

In January of this year both Owen and I got the flu. It was nasty! So I learned my lesson for sure and this year we are all getting flu shots. Yesterday afternoon we took the three kids to the dr and they got their shots.
I wasn't sure Owen would be able to get one because he had a cold which upon inspection turned out to be an ear infection. Poor baby - and he was still able to get his shot! Then we headed over to Walgreens to fill his antibiotic and I took my turn for the flu shot! The girls picked out treats while we were there.

Once Mike gets his flu shot we're all covered!!! No flu for us this year!!! :)

Savannah's Special Day

Kate and Mike are still out of town, so I am taking this opportunity to spend a little one on one (almost because Owen's still here) time with Savannah. Saturday was her special day.

We started with a morning visit to Dunkin Donuts where she literally ate almost an entire bagel with cream cheese all by herself! It was impressive. Then we headed to the gym because she really wanted Mommy to have a workout :)

Once we got home, she worked on a craft for Daddy.
There is probably an entire pound of paint on this picture frame, but I think she did a great job staying focused and completing the task!

After that we painted her nails! She loves getting her hands and feet done and she must always have different colors on each :)

Next Savannah actually wanted to get the car washed....she kept telling me it was dirty! And she was right! It took forever to vacuum it out. But she helped!
Then we picked out a couple movies for her and picked up Papa T for dinner at Kiku's!
Savannah loves the rice and noodles and especially likes watching the show. Her favorite part is the onion volcano.

We played in Papa T's backyard for a while. Savannah picked up citrus and Owen practiced his climbing skills.

Then we went home for a quick bath and watched movies!
I think Savannah had a great day. It amazes me how much more agreeable she is when she has more focused attention. And although we missed Daddy and Kate very much and can't wait until they get home, I am not looking forward to the laundry and getting back into the school routine!

Tampa Aquarium

With Mike and Kate off to Pensacola to celebrate aunt Renee's graduation, Savannah, Owen and I were left home itching for a day of fun! Once a year our zoo passes will let us swap and get into the Tampa Aquarium for free - so off we were!!!

The first thing Savannah saw when we walked in was the Touch Tank. This is a swallow tank with live star fish and anemones that you can touch. Last time we were there she was too afraid but this time the woman had to remind her (a couple times) to be gentle.
Next we took a tour of the coral reef exhibit.

Savannah was super excited because we talked Grandma into coming with us! I am really glad she came because without my big helper Kate, I would have had a hard time with the little ones.
Poor Owen - he spent all day in either a car seat, a stroller, or a high chair! He was a very good boy though and thankfully a lot a stuff was at his eye level :)
Here is Savannah today in the play shells.

And here she is last time we went about a year and a half ago! My oh my is she getting big!!!

Savannah found her real love was the sting ray tank! She touched and touched and touched them. Some of the really big ones would swim right over and pop up out of the water right in front of her and she would just squeal with delight! Mom and I thought she was going to go head first into the tank a few times.
After lunch and before the afternoon shows we headed out to the outdoor play area. This was Owen's one chance to get out and stretch his legs.

I told Savannah to stay away from the water area because we had to go back inside for the penguin show. The little sneak went behind the play boat and went down the water slide. Judging from the fact that she was SOAKED from head to toe, I would say she went down a few times. When I asked her why she didn't obey me she said, "Well, I was hot." Makes sense right?
After the shows (and all the complaining Savannah did about being cold), we headed home! It was a really great day at the aquarium :)

Hard Work Pays off for Kate!

Kaitlyn got her first progress report of the school year today. Her hard work has definitely paid off! She got 4 A's and one high B! She's doing great!!! :)

Go Kate go!!! What a great way to start off the school year :) She certainly makes my job a whole lot easier :) I just hope the next two are as naturally motivated as she is when it comes to their school work.

Owen Steps Again!

Here is some video of Owen showing off his skills. He is definitely getting more confident on his feet. We caught him sort of bouncing/dancing while he was standing up today!! It won't be long and we won't be able to stop him!!!!

Exercise in Futility

Before Owen joined our family, it wasn't easy to get a good picture of the girls but if I waited long enough it was doable. Now it seems that since I have one more to add to the mix, it is just about impossible. Somebody is always turned away or is making a funny face.

Last night Mike had to teach Driver's Ed and I was busy making dunner. I looked around the corner in the kitchen and caught my three kids each sitting on a box of toys. It was so cute! I don't know what possessed them to sit so quietly there together but I knew I wanted a picture of it!

Here's how it went:
Owen flees but Kate tries to hold on!

Little Man can't be contained

Girls are gone so now he climbs!

So cute!

Sweet Kate trying to recreate the moment!

Trying to control the situation

He's back - for a quick hug!

They think if they go back to sitting, he'll come too

Owen wants to see what I am up to

Cute close up!

Drama girl want some of the spot light!

And some more :)

Here comes Kate - see Savannah actually shoving her away

Finally Kate gets a moment....now where's Owen?
So I didn't get my cute picture, but you get a glimpse of what it is like in our family!!!

Check the Panties!

When I picked up Savannah from school yesterday she had a look on her face. I knew something was up! It came out as we were walking to the car. She quietly mentioned that she had put something in her panties so her teacher Mr. Trah wouldn't be mad. Oh great!

When I asked her to repeat herself, I noticed she was walking a little funny. So I asked her if it was still in her panties and she just giggled. So when we got to the car I did a panty pat down.....sure enough I felt lots of little bumps!!!
Apparently Savannah smuggled 27 beautiful acorns off the school playground in her panties!!! I asked her why in the world she needed so many acorns and she told me that someone at school told her if you squeezed them honey came out and she wanted to make some honey for her Dad. Now that's love! :)
