Tampa Aquarium

With Mike and Kate off to Pensacola to celebrate aunt Renee's graduation, Savannah, Owen and I were left home itching for a day of fun! Once a year our zoo passes will let us swap and get into the Tampa Aquarium for free - so off we were!!!

The first thing Savannah saw when we walked in was the Touch Tank. This is a swallow tank with live star fish and anemones that you can touch. Last time we were there she was too afraid but this time the woman had to remind her (a couple times) to be gentle.
Next we took a tour of the coral reef exhibit.

Savannah was super excited because we talked Grandma into coming with us! I am really glad she came because without my big helper Kate, I would have had a hard time with the little ones.
Poor Owen - he spent all day in either a car seat, a stroller, or a high chair! He was a very good boy though and thankfully a lot a stuff was at his eye level :)
Here is Savannah today in the play shells.

And here she is last time we went about a year and a half ago! My oh my is she getting big!!!

Savannah found her real love was the sting ray tank! She touched and touched and touched them. Some of the really big ones would swim right over and pop up out of the water right in front of her and she would just squeal with delight! Mom and I thought she was going to go head first into the tank a few times.
After lunch and before the afternoon shows we headed out to the outdoor play area. This was Owen's one chance to get out and stretch his legs.

I told Savannah to stay away from the water area because we had to go back inside for the penguin show. The little sneak went behind the play boat and went down the water slide. Judging from the fact that she was SOAKED from head to toe, I would say she went down a few times. When I asked her why she didn't obey me she said, "Well, I was hot." Makes sense right?
After the shows (and all the complaining Savannah did about being cold), we headed home! It was a really great day at the aquarium :)
