The Garden

Savannah has been really really really wanting a real garden forever! We tried a couple years ago in FL but we aren't the best plant people and we pretty much killed everything we grew. But now that we live in a different climate with actual soil I thought that it couldn't hurt to try again. So we did a little research and this weekend was the weekend we planted our seeds!


Well, between the snow and the 1st of May, this happened!

tons of weeds! 

i just told him we had to weed before we could plant....not thrilled! 

that was a lot of weeds! it's like they just came out of no where! 

We had a little drama with the garden site. The place I had been planning to put the garden Mike used to bury a very dead and smelly cat that the girls found in the creek! Woopps! So we had to improvise! So it ended up here. Hope it works out! 

We planted carrots, zucchini, squash, tomatoes, and spinach

We had another bit of drama however while gardening! Savannah was pulling a few weeds and stumbled across this....

We apparently pulled all the high grass that the mother was using as cover. At first we thought they were moles and left them be. Then once we determined that the mother was not coming back for them we rescued them. As you can imagine, this was a little more than we were bargaining for! Savannah would not rest until we agreed to take care of them!
