So after we left Tallahassee, we took off towards South Carolina where my sister, her husband, and their 1 year old son Chase live. We got there on Monday evening, which was the 4th of July. After a yummy dinner and fireworks we went to bed! We were exhausted after 8 hours in the car - and the MANY bathroom breaks we had to take for Savannah!
Tuesday morning we woke up fresh and headed to the Columbia Zoo!

The highlight of the trip was feeding the giraffes. Even though my girls have done this several time, they never seem to tire of it.
We ate our lunch in a small botanical garden. It was very hot that day and the only shaded tables had active sprinklers on them so we ate as fast as we could and headed inside for the air conditioning.
We rode the carousel and played on the playground before heading home for the day.

Kaitlyn was all set to climb the rock wall, but she was wearing flip flops...bummer! |
The heat from the zoo basically wiped us of all energy for the rest of the day, but we did manage to get excited about ice cream after dinner. Jack and Carrie took us to a little place called Zesto's. It was yummy!
What a great way to start off our summer trip! Everyone slept great that night!
