Eustis Easter Egg Hunt

My kids LOVE holidays! And Easter is no exception - Savannah has been asking me if today is Easter for almost a month now. So I was thrilled on Saturday morning to tell her that it was just one day away and that we would get to hunt for eggs a day early. Mike read somewhere about an Easter Egg hunt put on by the Kiwanis and Key Clubs at the Clifford House in Eustis. So we got up early and headed over :)

And the first thing we saw was the Easter Bunny! Owen was pointing and grunting and looking all excited...until he got close!
I was so thankful that they did their Easter Egg hunting one age group at a time...last year we all had to split up and hunt eggs at them same time so this was nice since we had three different age groups. Owen's group was up first.

love this face!

I was so proud of myself because before we went I took him downstairs in my bedroom and held a little practice session with him. I laid out some eggs and showed him how to gather them in his basket. And he would and then I dumped them back out and we did it again. So what did Owen do when his basket was looking full?

He dumped them out and started over! It was priceless! Then it was time for Savannah's group to hunt!

It was hard to get a good picture of her because those kids were moving fast!!! We had some time in between her group and Kate's group so we went to get the kids faces painted.
Kate chose a bunny face

Savannah got a Minnie Mouse bow and hearts
and Owen got an Easter Egg
Next up was Kate!! This group moved even faster than Savannah's!

Look at those eggs!
And what Easter Egg Hunt would be complete without doing the Chicken Dance?!?!?!

It was a nice morning together and afterwards we went over to Chick-fil-A and got a little bite to eat and let the kids run around. Owen is getting so big he was able to play in the play area without assistance from us! It makes me so sad!

Next we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa John's new house they are fixing up to rent and let the kids play in the great climbing tree the yard has!

Savannah got an invisible splinter in her finger and spent most of her time whining about needing tweezers...what else is new?

Right before we left to get lunch and naps, the kids helped rake a few (a very few) leaves :)

Owen is turning out to be quite the helper...I hope he stays that way!

  1. I love how you said you were mad that Owen was big enough to play in the play area without your help. Are you mad he's getting bigger? Or that you don't have an excuse to play in the play area? Hahaha.
